ത്രൈമാസ നികുതിയിൽ 50 ശതമാനം ഇളവ് പ്രഖ്യാപിച്ച ബജറ്റ് നടപടിക്കെതിരെ സ്വകാര്യ ബസ് ഉടമകൾ രംഗത്തെത്തി. നികുതി ഇളവ് ലഭിച്ചാലും ദിവസേനയുള്ള ചെലവിൽ 106.50 രൂപ മുതൽ 142.50 രൂപ വരെ മാത്രമാണ് കുറവ് ഉണ്ടാകുന്നതെന്ന് ബസ് ഉടമകൾ പറയുന്നു. സർക്കാർ പ്രഖ്യാപനം വലിയതാണെങ്കിലും തങ്ങൾക്ക് കാര്യമായ നേട്ടമല്ലെന്നും അഭിപ്രായപ്പെട്ടു.
കെഎസ്ആർടിസിയുടെ പ്രിയദർശിനി സർവീസ് കാരണം പ്രതിദിനം 1,000 രൂപ മുതൽ 6,000 രൂപ വരെ നഷ്ടമുണ്ടാകുന്നതായി ബസ് ഉടമകൾ പറയുന്നു. പ്രതീക്ഷിച്ച സാമ്പത്തിക പാക്കേജ് സർക്കാർ നൽകിയില്ലെന്നും ആശങ്ക പ്രകടിപ്പിച്ചു. സ്വകാര്യ ബസുകളിലും സ്ത്രീകൾക്ക് സൗജന്യ യാത്ര അനുവദിക്കാമെന്നും എന്നാൽ കെഎസ്ആർടിസിക്ക് നൽകുന്നതുപോലെ സർക്കാർ നഷ്ടപരിഹാരം നൽകണമെന്നും ആവശ്യപ്പെട്ടു.
