ഷിംലയിലെ ഹോട്ടൽ വ്യവസായിയായ രേണു ബാൽജി എന്ന വയോധിക 2026 സെപ്റ്റംബർ ഏഴിന് രാത്രി സ്വന്തം വീട്ടിൽ ഉറങ്ങുകയായിരുന്നു. കൂടെ രണ്ട് വീട്ടുജോലിക്കാരികൾ മാത്രം. നേപ്പാൾ സ്വദേശിയായ കരിഷ്മ എന്ന ജോലിക്കാരി ഭക്ഷണത്തിൽ മയക്കുമരുന്ന് കലർത്തി ഉടമയെ ബോധം കെടുത്തി. മൂന്ന് കൂട്ടാളികളുമായി ചേർന്ന് ഒരു കോടിയിലേറെ രൂപയുടെ സ്വർണ്ണവും വജ്രവും വെള്ളി നാണയങ്ങളും വാച്ചുകളും മോഷ്ടിച്ച് രുദ്രാപൂർ വഴി നേപ്പാളിലേക്ക് കടക്കാൻ ശ്രമിച്ചു. അതിർത്തിയിൽ എക്സൈസ് ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥർ ഇവരെ തടഞ്ഞെങ്കിലും സാധനങ്ങൾ തട്ടിയെടുത്ത് ഇവരെ ഓടാൻ അനുവദിച്ചു. ഒടുവിൽ നാല് എക്സൈസ് ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥർ തന്നെ അറസ്റ്റിലായി. ഓൺലൈൻ പോർട്ടൽ വഴി ആളെ നിർത്തി, പോലീസ് പരിശോധന പോലും നടത്താത്തതാണ് വിനയായതെന്ന് പോലീസ് പറയുന്നു.
ഇത് ഷിംലയിൽ മാത്രമല്ല, നമ്മുടെ നാട്ടിലും
തിരുവനന്തപുരം ഉള്ളൂരിൽ അറുപത്തിയഞ്ചുകാരിയെ വീട്ടിൽ ഒറ്റയ്ക്ക് കണ്ടെത്തി കെട്ടിയിട്ട് വായ് മൂടിക്കെട്ടി സ്വർണ്ണം കവർന്നു. വിഴിഞ്ഞത്ത് ഒറ്റയ്ക്ക് താമസിക്കുന്ന വയോധികയുടെ വീട്ടിൽ നിന്ന് നാല് പവനും ഇരുപത്തയ്യായിരം രൂപയും പോയി. ചെന്നൈ മൈലാപ്പൂരിൽ എൺപത്തിയൊന്നുകാരിയെ പരിചയമുള്ള വീട്ടുജോലിക്കാരി വെള്ളം ചോദിച്ച് അകത്ത് കയറി കഴുത്ത് ഞെരിച്ച് ആഭരണം കവരാൻ ശ്രമിച്ചു. തെന്മലയിലെ വൃദ്ധസദനത്തിൽ പന്ത്രണ്ട് വയോധികർ പീഡനം നേരിട്ടതായി രക്ഷപ്പെട്ട സ്ത്രീ വെളിപ്പെടുത്തി.
എന്തുകൊണ്ട് കേരളം കൂടുതൽ അപകടത്തിൽ
കേരളം ഇന്ത്യയിലെ ഏറ്റവും വേഗം വയോധികരാകുന്ന സംസ്ഥാനമാണ്. 2021-ൽ പതിനാറര ശതമാനമായിരുന്ന വയോധികർ 2036 ആകുമ്പോൾ ഇരുപത്തിയാറ് ശതമാനമാകും. നാൽപ്പത് ലക്ഷം പ്രവാസികൾ പുറത്താണ്. ചെറിയ കുടുംബങ്ങൾ, മക്കൾ നഗരങ്ങളിലേക്കും വിദേശത്തേക്കും പോകുന്നു. വീടുകൾ പൂട്ടിക്കിടക്കുന്നു, പകുതി വീടുകളിൽ വയോധികർ മാത്രം. ഏകാന്തതയാണ് ഏറ്റവും വലിയ രോഗമെന്ന് പഠനങ്ങൾ പറയുന്നു. സ്മാർട്ട് ഫോണും മരുന്നും മാത്രം കൂട്ടുള്ള ജീവിതം.
പൂട്ട് മാത്രം പോരാ, കരുതൽ വേണം
ഓൺലൈനിൽ കണ്ട ആളെ വീട്ടിൽ കയറ്റുന്നതിന് മുൻപ് പോലീസ് പരിശോധന നിർബന്ധമാക്കണം. അയൽക്കൂട്ടങ്ങൾ, റസിഡൻസ് അസോസിയേഷനുകൾ വയോധികരുടെ വീടുകൾ ദിവസവും നോക്കണം. കേരളം വയോധികർക്കായി പ്രത്യേക വകുപ്പ് തുടങ്ങിയെങ്കിലും സംരക്ഷണം വീടുകളിൽ എത്തുന്നില്ല.
