പക്ഷെ നേപ്പാളിലെ പോലെ ഭീകരമാകില്ല. നേപ്പാളിൽ 2000-ത്തിലധികം വലിയ മൊറൈൻ തടാകങ്ങൾ, ലക്ഷക്കണക്കിന് ജനങ്ങൾ താഴ്വരയിൽ. സ്വിറ്റ്സർലൻഡിൽ തടാകങ്ങൾ ചെറുത്, 1965 മുതൽ ദേശീയ തലത്തിൽ അപകട നിർണയ സംവിധാനം ഉണ്ട്, എല്ലാ ഹിമാനിയും ഉപഗ്രഹം വഴി നിരീക്ഷിക്കുന്നു, വിള്ളൽ വീണാൽ ആഴ്ചകൾ മുൻപ് അറിയാം. അതുകൊണ്ട് വൻതോതിൽ മഞ്ഞുരുകുന്നുണ്ടെങ്കിലും തടാകം പൊട്ടി നേപ്പാൾ മാതിരി മഹാപ്രളയത്തിന് സാധ്യത കുറവാണ്.
