ഉമാദേവി ഭർത്താവിനോട് പറഞ്ഞത് “കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങളെ പേടിയാണ്, എന്നെക്കൊണ്ട് പറ്റുന്നില്ല” എന്നാണ്. ലിൻഡ്സെയുടെ ഭർത്താവ് കോടതിയിൽ പറഞ്ഞതും അതുതന്നെ – അവസാന ഒരു മാസം അവളുടെ മാനസികാവസ്ഥ പാടെ തകർന്നു എന്ന്. 11 പേർ ഒരു വശത്ത്, ഒരാൾ മറുവശത്ത്
ലിൻഡ്സെയുടെ കേസിൽ 7 ദിവസം ചർച്ച ചെയ്തിട്ടും ജൂറി 11-1 എന്ന നിലയിൽ പിരിഞ്ഞു. ഒരാൾ മാത്രം പറഞ്ഞു – അവൾക്ക് എന്ത് ചെയ്യുന്നു എന്ന് നന്നായി അറിയാമായിരുന്നു എന്ന്. ബാക്കി 11 പേരെ സംബന്ധിച്ച് അവൾ രോഗിയായിരുന്നു. ഇവിടെയാണ് നിയമം കുടുങ്ങുന്നത്. Psychosis ഉണ്ടെന്ന് കരുതി ക്രിമിനൽ ഉത്തരവാദിത്തം ഇല്ലാതാകില്ല. മസാച്യുസെറ്റ്സിൽ പ്രോസിക്യൂഷൻ തെളിയിക്കണം – രോഗമുണ്ടായിട്ടും തെറ്റ് എന്താണെന്ന് മനസ്സിലാക്കാൻ അവൾക്ക് കഴിഞ്ഞിരുന്നു എന്ന്.
ഇത് കൊലപാതകമോ രോഗമോ? നമ്മൾ എവിടെയാണ് തെറ്റിച്ചത്?

Psychosis 1000-ൽ 1-2 പേർക്ക്. പക്ഷെ emergency ലക്ഷണങ്ങൾ വ്യക്തമാണ് – പൂർണമായ ഉറക്കമില്ലായ്മ, ആശയക്കുഴപ്പം, കുഞ്ഞിനെ നിരസിക്കൽ, ആത്മഹത്യാ ചിന്ത.
