ഇന്ത്യയും കസാഖിസ്ഥാനും ചേർന്ന് നടത്തുന്ന ഒൻപതാമത് കാസിൻഡ് സംയുക്ത സൈനികാഭ്യാസത്തിൽ പങ്കെടുക്കാൻ 60 അംഗ ഇന്ത്യൻ സായുധസേനാ സംഘം സെപ്റ്റംബർ 28ന് കസാഖിസ്ഥാനിലെ ഒസ്കെമെനിലേക്ക് പുറപ്പെട്ടു. സെപ്റ്റംബർ 28 മുതൽ ഒക്ടോബർ 11 വരെയാണ് അഭ്യാസം. കസാഖിസ്ഥാൻ സായുധസേനയും സമാന അംഗബലമുള്ള സംഘത്തെ പരിശീലനത്തിനായി നിയോഗിക്കും.

അർധനഗര മേഖലകളിലും മലനിരകളിലുമുള്ള ഭീകരവിരുദ്ധ പ്രവർത്തനങ്ങളിലാണ് ഇത്തവണ കൂടുതൽ പരിശീലനം. സംയുക്ത ആസൂത്രണവും ആക്രമണനടപടികളും, വ്യോമമാർഗ സൈനികനീക്കവും, ആളില്ലാ വ്യോമസംവിധാനങ്ങളുടെ ഉപയോഗവും അവയെ പ്രതിരോധിക്കുന്ന സംവിധാനങ്ങളും പരിശീലിക്കും. ഭീകരാക്രമണങ്ങൾക്ക് സംയുക്ത മറുപടി നൽകൽ, റെയ്ഡ്, തിരച്ചിൽ, വളഞ്ഞുപിടിക്കൽ, ഹെലിപാഡുകളും ഇറങ്ങാനുള്ള സ്ഥലങ്ങളും സുരക്ഷിതമാക്കൽ എന്നിവയും ഇതിൽ ഉൾപ്പെടും.
